Cultivate the land with passion

Our work begins in the vineyard. We follow the lunar calendar in the vineyard and in the cellar, and ferment with indigenous yeasts. As a result, our wines embody the essence of our terroir and its indigenous Sangiovese.

Organic practices

At Poggio La Noce, from the beginning we have lived on the property, growing our vegetables there, drinking water from our well, so right away we knew we wanted to cultivate with the utmost respect for the surrounding nature and the valley. We immediately adopted organic practices and obtained official certification in 2006.

The tulips Y The owls

Owned vineyards

The two vineyards in Poggio La Noce, with a surface area of approximately 3.5 hectares (approximately 8 acres), extend along the crest of the hill overlooking the valley, at an altitude of 250 - 350 m, with south-southwest exposure. Our first vineyard, called Vigna “I Tulipani” for the many wild tulips that grow there in spring, was planted in 2000 and 2006 mainly in Sangiovese. “Le Civette” vineyard, our second vineyard was planted at the beginning of 2017 with Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino. The name “Le Civette” or “owl” is in honor of a family of owls that reside in the terrace wall just above the vineyard.

Additional vineyards

Our third vineyard south of Florence in the Chianti Classico appellation near Montefiridolfi adds another 1 hectares (2.5 acres) of old Sangiovese vines (35+ years) on ancient alluvial soils featuring the famous "galets roulés" stones.

Finally, the family is completed by a small vineyard of 100% Falanghina vines located on a promontory above the town of Baia in the DOC Campi Flegrei.

The cellar

Built in 2016, our winery is nestled right on the hill below our beautiful olive grove, close to the vineyards. Built entirely underground, which makes it particularly energy efficient and helps maintain the ideal temperature and humidity for our wines throughout the year.

Our cellar designed using eco-sustainable materials, allows for a well-integrated and natural workflow from the initial harvest to the final bottling of the wine.

Award-winning architecture

The tasting room

The cellar also includes a tasting area where guests can book an appointment to come and visit us and obviously taste all our wines. Thanks to the large sliding glass doors, the tasting room is naturally integrated into the winery itself and with the surrounding landscape, offering a splendid view of our valley – well, when the team hasn't parked all the harvest machinery right in front

Ready to visit and taste?

A unique and personal experience

All visits are by appointment only and limited in size, mostly allowing for private tours and tastings, ideal for family visits or groups of friends. The visits include a walk in the two vineyards, tasting the grapes (if in September), visiting the cellar and finally tasting all the wines with various assorted appetizers. The cost per person is €45.
