PRECISION WINEMAKING

We employ a split-aging regime designed to get the best of both worlds.

THE SANGIOVESE:

Aged in large 10hl oak casks (Botti). This preserves the electric acidity and the “soul” of the Tuscan fruit.

 

THE COLORINO:

Aged in new French oak barriques (225L). This is the alchemy. The small barrels impart the rich vanillin, spice, and rounding tannins that give Gigiò its international polish.

 

AGING:

 24 months in wood, followed by 12 months in bottle. Unfiltered.

 

DRINK WINDOW:

Approchable now with a 2-hour decant. Will evolve and gain complexity for 15–20 years.
